🔐 What two-factor authentication does
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra security step when you sign in. After entering your password, you’ll
confirm your identity with a code from an authenticator app.
⚙️ How to activate 2FA
1. Sign in to your Search Atlas account.
2. Open the Avatar Menu (👤) by selecting your avatar in the top-right corner.
3. Open your account or security settings.
4. Find the Two-factor authentication or 2FA option and select Enable.
5. Scan the displayed QR code with an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or
Authy. You can also enter the setup key manually.
6. Enter the six-digit code generated by the app.
7. Confirm the setup and securely save any recovery codes provided.
📱 Signing in after activation
Enter your Search Atlas email address and password as usual. When prompted, open your authenticator app and enter the
current six-digit code.
🛟 If you lose access
Use a saved recovery code if you cannot access your authenticator app. Recovery codes are intended for one-time use, so
store them securely and do not share them.
