πŸ”Ž What Are Local SERPs?

Local SERPs lets you see exactly how Google displays local search results for any keyword in any location. Unlike heatmaps (which show ranking across a geographic grid), Local SERPs shows you the actual search results page β€” including the Local Pack, organic listings, and featured snippets.

🧭 How to Use Local SERPs

  1. In the left sidebar, go to GBP Projects
  2. Select your GBP project
  3. Click Local SERPS in the project menu
  4. Enter a keyword (e.g., "plumber near me")
  5. Define the search location (city, zip code, or address)
  6. Click Search to see the results

πŸ’³ Quota Usage

Local SERP searches consume Local SEO Points from your plan quota.

  • Each search uses 1 Local SEO Point
  • Check your remaining points: click your Avatar Menu (πŸ‘€) (top-right) > Billing > Plans & Top-ups
  • Points reset monthly on your billing anniversary date

πŸ‘€ What You Can See

  • Local Pack (Map Pack): The top 3 businesses Google shows in the map section
  • Organic Results: Standard blue-link results below the map
  • Your Position: Where your business ranks for that keyword in that location
  • Competitor Analysis: See which competitors appear and in what position

πŸ†š Local SERPs vs Heatmaps

  • Feature: Shows β€” Local SERPs: Full search results page for one location; Heatmaps: Ranking across a geographic grid (multiple points)
  • Feature: Best for β€” Local SERPs: Checking specific keyword rankings; Heatmaps: Visualizing ranking coverage across an area
  • Feature: Quota β€” Local SERPs: 1 Local SEO Point per search; Heatmaps: 1 point per grid pin (grid size varies)

πŸ’‘ Tips

  • Use specific, location-relevant keywords for the most useful results
  • Compare results across different locations to see where you rank strongest
  • Check Local SERPs before and after GBP optimizations to measure impact
