The Search Atlas WordPress plugin (MetaSync) may not always appear in the WordPress.org plugin directory. When that happens you can still install or update it yourself, because the plugin ZIP file is available inside your Search Atlas dashboard. You do not need to wait for the team to send it.

## How do I get the plugin ZIP file?

1. Sign in to your Search Atlas dashboard.
2. In the left sidebar, open **OTTO SEO**, then **Installation Guide**.
3. In the manual WordPress installation steps, use the **Download the plugin** step to download the ZIP file.
4. Save the file to your computer. Do not unzip it. WordPress needs the ZIP format.

## How do I install or update the plugin from the ZIP file?

We recommend a full backup of your site files and database first.

1. Sign in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
2. Go to **Plugins**, then **Add New**, then **Upload Plugin**.
3. Choose the ZIP file and click **Install Now**.
4. If WordPress tells you the plugin is already installed, choose the option to replace the current version with the uploaded one.
5. Activate the plugin if it is not already active.
6. Go to **Plugins**, then **Installed Plugins**, and check the version number under the plugin name.

## What if my plugin is outdated and my host reports a security notice?

Download the latest ZIP file as described above and install it over the current version. After the update, check the version number again.
